Our new boards have each developed detailed ministry plans for 2008. Their plans include goals, action steps, staff needs, and budget. To give NWYM an idea of where we’re headed, we’ve condensed these down to simple lists of immediate goals. This summary, along with a budget summary and the staff implications have been sent to the Representatives at each church so churches and Areas can discuss them prior to Yearly Meeting sessions.

As part of the ministry plan process, boards shared with the Administrative Council the amount and type of staff support they might need in the Yearly Meeting office. The AC made some adjustments and counter proposals, which being approved by the boards has become our staff recommendation for 2008. Our plan is to bring this staff recommendation to the floor of the Yearly Meeting as part of the ministry plan presentation for discussion and approval. We hope to hold our staffing loosely, always making sure it flows from the leadings the boards feel about their ministry.
