2008 F&P Draft

We in Northwest Yearly Meeting have been working for several years to reassess our mission and ministries. Many of you have been deeply involved in this process, and were present in 2006 when we approved the report of the Organization and Strategy Group (OSG); and in 2007 when the plans for the organization of Areas and a new Yearly Meeting staffing structure were also approved. Now we need to put these changes into our Faith and Practice, which describes how we organize ourselves and conduct our affairs, and also serves as our legal by-laws.

So the Faith and Practice Revision Committee has a draft document to share.

Here is the full set of proposed revisions to Faith and Practice that incorporate these organizational changes.

An executive summary, describing these changes, as well as the process that brought us here, is included in the introduction.

At our midyear meeting, February 1-2, 2008, Representatives had the chance to review and discuss these revisions. Those observations and questions were used as we try to perfect a final draft for first reading in July, 2008. We hope you will take time to review this document before then.
