The Board of Communication is comprised of Friends with gifts, expertise and passion for developing connection and fostering communication. This board uses a variety of media to tell the story of God’s action in and through NWYM. Specific responsibilities include:

• Develop varied and creative ways to communicate the NWYM’s ministry, identity, values, mission, vision within our faith community and to the world around us
• Maintain an active NWYM website
• Provide input and oversight for NWYM e-lists, e-letter, publications, materials, etc.
• Find creative ways and avenues to “tell the story” of what is going on throughout NWYM churches and related ministries
• Provide support and counsel to the NWYM staff and other NWYM boards in their written and other media materials
• Develop an information and resource center to promote the materials and ministries of NWYM boards
• Oversee the annual writing of the Epistle during Yearly Meeting sessions
• Promote Friends publications, books, and Barclay Press resources
• Find ways to further support the ministry of Barclay Press
• Develop a creative way to recap our annual sessions for report in our local faith communities
• Develop a regular written communication—focused on building connection, unity and communicating NWYM news, values, mission, vision and ministries—that is sent to NWYM homes, local faith communities and Area gatherings
• Assist in developing promotional materials for NWYM sessions, local faith communities, and other events
• Cooperate with other EFI yearly meetings in joint efforts related to communication. Send representatives to serve on relevant commissions
• Assist in the creation of materials/media for Hispanic (and other cross-cultural) Friends churches/individuals
