YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS

A community where youth and young adults encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and discover their calling.

Growing the next generation of Friends to follow Jesus, lead well, and live on mission.

We long to see youth and young adults across Northwest Yearly Meeting rooted in Christ, connected to the wider Friends family, and equipped to lead lives of faithful discipleship and service.

Northwest Yearly Meeting partners with local churches to support the spiritual formation and leadership development of youth and young adults through retreats, camps, leadership training, and shared experiences that build lasting faith and community.

Key Opportunities

Northwest Yearly Meeting is committed to investing in the next generation of Friends. Through retreats, camps, leadership training, and shared experiences, youth and young adults are invited to grow in their faith, build meaningful friendships, and discover how God is calling them to serve.

These opportunities are designed to support local churches by providing spaces where students can encounter Jesus, learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, and develop as leaders in their churches and communities.

  • Friends Summit

A gathering for youth and young adults across the Northwest that focuses on worship, teaching, and community. Summit provides a space to connect with other Friends, deepen faith, and explore what it means to follow Jesus in today’s world.

  • Young Adult Retreat

Designed primarily for college-aged young adults, YAR offers a weekend to step away from the busyness of life to seek God together, wrestle with faith and calling, and build friendships with others in the Friends community.

  • LEAD

A leadership development experience that equips students to grow in spiritual maturity, leadership skills, and discernment. LEAD also creates opportunities for young adults to mentor younger students and invest in the next generation.

  • Camp Ministries

NWYM partners with Friends camps across the region that offer life-changing summer experiences for students. These camps create space for youth to encounter God, build community, and grow in their faith. High school and college students can also serve on Summer Staff, developing leadership while investing in younger campers.

  • Education

NWYM partners with a number of colleges & seminaries. As Friends, we recognize the importance of accessible education for all. Learn more about our partner organizations.
